August 6 and 9 mark 80 years since the U.S. government dropped nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Ever since, absolutely essential to nuclear weaponry has been nuclear energy. With one quick action, you can email your governor and state legislators this message (and add to it anything you like): As your constituent, I urge you to pass legislation to make our state a nuclear free zone, with a ban on nuclear energy and weaponry. There is no solution whatsoever to the indisputable problem of nuclear waste disposal. There is no solution to the risk of more Three Mile Island- , Chernobyl- , Fukushima-like disasters. Nuclear energy is not "green," but slow, dangerous, expensive, and inefficient. Solar, wind, and tide energy solutions have been progressing even faster in reality than has nuclear energy in propaganda.
