Dear Friend,

Today is my birthday; with age comes patience and perspective. Recently, I also learned that I am going to be a grandmother, making my fight for a just society even MORE important.
 

Both of these are usually occasions to celebrate, but this year my priorities have shifted. All I want for my birthday this year is to ensure a future for my grandchild. A future where we are protecting the planet, promoting peace and diplomacy -- a future where the value of human life outweighs that of a dollar.

That’s why for my 42nd birthday I am asking you to support the campaign to re-elect the progressive champion Rep. Jamaal Bowman while also supporting the RootsAction team as we mobilize to support our #ceasefirenow candidates. Right now the very close race for the congressional seat in NY-16 is down to the wire and we need all hands on deck to defend Jamaal.
