Congresswoman Cori Bush was already considered the most vulnerable progressive member of Congress, even before AIPAC bought Congressman Jamaal Bowman's seat with Republican money and the help of a firm run by former heads of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Now the backers of genocide and rightwing greed smell blood. Bush is being challenged in a Democratic primary by a former campaign manager for a rightwing Republican -- a prosecutor who is accepting funding from a long list of Republicans and who has the benefit of major funding from AIPAC, the leading spender of Republican money in supposedly Democratic primaries. The polls are now a statistical tie. The smears and lies about Congresswoman Bush keep coming, with the corporate media correcting them no more than CNN debate moderators corrected Trump. The reason, of course, is that Bush has been a rare leading voice for peace and justice. |
