Julian Assange has made a plea bargain with the U.S. government to obtain his freedom. From the beginning of RootsAction in 2011, we supported WikiLeaks publishing activities that exposed U.S. war crimes and foreign policy misconduct, and we championed Assange's release from prosecution for years, including organizing a petition campaign for Ecuador to grant him asylum in 2012.
