After World War Two, the Nuremberg Tribunal ruled that launching a war of aggression is “the supreme international crime.” On that basis, George W. Bush should be in prison for ordering the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.

But instead, WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange has been in prison for more than four years, with no end in sight -- for the “crime” of journalism that exposed the big lies and horrific consequences set in motion by Bush.

The U.S. Department of Justice is still trying to extradite Assange from the UK. You can send a quick email to tell Attorney General Merrick Garland to drop the case.

Assange is on the cover of the latest ColdType e-magazine, which features an exclusive excerpt from War Made Invisible: How America Hides the Human Toll of Its Military Machine, by RootsAction national director Norman Solomon. To see that free magazine, click here.

We can’t depend on corporate media outlets to defend the First Amendment rights of Assange any more than we could depend on them to be truthful about the Iraq war.

That’s why, here at RootsAction, we’re glad to be providing a daily flow of cutting-edge information at Progressive Hub, and we hope you’ll make it part of your daily routine.

In solidarity,

The RootsAction team
