So it turns out that Trump is for peace . . . except in Yemen, and Gaza, and possibly Iran -- not to mention on college campuses where the wrong words can get you kidnapped and imprisoned -- and is using something the size of a house-smashing tractor to shovel yet more funds from everything good and decent into the Pentagon. Who could have seen this coming? Well, many of us did, didn't we? And we're building a movement to un-Trump things. It's wonderful that some courts are pushing back, forcing re-hirings, etc. But Trump is also nakedly defying court orders, such as one not to send planeloads of people to a brutal prison in El Salvador. Courts alone will not save us, and courts, too, respond to our public pressure. What can ordinary, busy people do about a U.S. government and society quickly swinging toward fascism? What do we know from the past and present and around the world about what works? Where do we start? How do we continue? Come to the Teach-In on March 20th -- Tomorrow! Tomorrow you can join: - Aviva Chomsky, Professor of History and Coordinator of Latin American Studies, Salem State University
- Norman Solomon, National Director of RootsAction.org and Executive Director of the Institute for Public Accuracy
- Alex Marquardt, Executive Director, Climate Defense Project
- Kira Kelley, Staff Attorney, Climate Defense Project
- India Walton, Senior Strategist at RootsAction, community activist in Buffalo, NY

Make it a Double-Header A progressive "doubleheader" is happening online Thursday evening. In addition to our Teach-In Network event at 8 pm ET, another important virtual gathering will happen in the hour before -- when We Are Somebody, led by RootsAction's longtime friend Nina Turner, will be holding its first ever national call. Hopefully you can make it to one or other -- or both -- of those events! To sign up for the We Are Somebody livestream, click here: |
