The genocide in Gaza has not ceased. Neither have the crackdowns on college campuses aimed at stifling nonviolent action against U.S. militarism. The urgency for education to support this activism has never been greater.

At the Teach-In Network, we’re committed to mobilizing those who refuse to stay silent as the U.S. government squanders hundreds of billions annually on immoral wars — spreading death and destruction abroad while ignoring the urgent needs of people here at home.

We invite you to join us in organizing around a core principle: Knowledge is power. Grassroots movements need both.

If you haven’t already, we encourage you to sign up for updates.

The Teach-In Network is growing to support students, professors, and organizers — on and off campuses — in broadening knowledge, building power, and creating meaningful change. We aim to harness the power of teach-ins, and we want to help you organize your own!

With the Teach-In Network, you’ll gain access to a growing list of expert speakers. Whether your teach-in is virtual, in-person, or hybrid, the network ensures that you can draw on a wide range of expertise.

Meanwhile, we invite you to register now for a free national teach-in on U.S. Foreign Policy, hosted by the Teach-In Network.

This virtual event, scheduled for Thursday, January 9, at 5 pm Pacific / 8 pm Eastern, will examine the role of American militarism in fostering a less safe, less just, and less democratic world. Experts will explore critical issues such as resistance to U.S. foreign policy, the intersections between militarism at home and abroad, the true cost of exorbitant military spending, the existential threat of nuclear weapons, and more.

We will be joined by David Vine, author of Base Nation, Island of Shame, and The United States of War; Christian Appy, Director of the Ellsberg Initiative for Peace and Democracy and author of American Reckoning; Sonali Kolhatkar, journalist and author of Rising Up: The Power of Narrative in Pursuing Racial Justice and co-author of Bleeding Afghanistan; Emma Claire Foley, Defuse Nuclear War leader and RootsAction nuclear specialist; David Swanson, Executive Director of World BEYOND War, Campaign Coordinator at RootsAction, and author of War is a Lie.

We’re excited to be able to hold these events to promote the launch of the Teach-In Network, which provides essential tools to counter repression through education, leading to action in solidarity with Palestinian people and against U.S. militarism.

If you have any questions, please contact Ryan Black at [email protected].

With solidarity and best wishes,

The Teach-In Network Team
