There will be more train wrecks, and more releases of carcinogenic chemicals, unless changes are made. We've been pushing Congress and the Biden administration to take several obvious steps that could have been taken long ago.

Other disasters are on their way in slow motion, easier to address than an out-of-control train, but far more damaging if allowed to happen.

In Buffalo, Roots Action Civic Engagement, or RACE Buffalo, is a non-partisan program of RootsAction Education Fund now working to better address and prepare for disasters like the recent mass-shooting and the recent mass-winter-freezing. We need more such local action.

We also need national solutions to racism, guns, violence, poverty, lack of healthcare, environmental destruction, and corrupt governance.

We'll get very few of the necessary national solutions and very little of the necessary global cooperation if we don't end the wars, including in Ukraine and Yemen. In fact the risk continues to grow that we'll get nuclear apocalypse if we don't end the wars, and environmental collapse if we don't redirect our resources. Defuse Nuclear War has been orgainzing events around the country.

In many ways, the U.S. government is a slow-rolling train wreck. By failing to adequately address the crises we face, it guarantees that they will become dramatically worse.

As RootsAction has recently made clear, polls show us that the U.S. public favors far more progressive action than does President Joe Biden.

In fact, candidate Joe Biden in 2020 favored far more progressive and serious approaches to the problems we face than does President Joe Biden.

Do you have questions about why we say that Biden should get out of the way and open the gate for other candidates next year? Here are frequently asked questions and answers.
