Musk is an unelected, private citizen who has not been nominated or confirmed by Congress to oversee any government agencies. He has no place in the U.S. government and should be removed from any acting role as quickly as possible. Acts of Congress created important federal agencies and departments – and only Congress has the power to abolish them. We thank current members of Congress who have called for Musk to be subpoenaed by Congress or called for his ouster. More action is needed, and urgently. Musk and his cronies are operating in an environment with no oversight and with dangerously broad access to myriad databases and systems that include private information about millions of U.S. citizens.
