We've had some recent successes.

• This month the White House announced a temporary (election year?) pause on approving new liquefied natural gas export terminals. RootsAction has pushed for that and more serious and permanent steps to protect the climate.
• After pressure from RootsAction and many others resulted in a charge of genocide against Israel before the International Court of Justice, the court made a preliminary ruling that the case should proceed and ordered that Israel cease all of its genocidal actions including the killing of Palestinians.
• Following efforts by many including RootsAction, progress has been made on state minimum wages such that 14 states and the District of Columbia have a minimum wage of $15 or more per hour or plan to soon reach that level, and seven states plus D.C. have that wage indexed to automatically increase with the cost of living (the seven states below).

Meanwhile, wars are multiplying like rabbits and Nancy Pelosi is asking the FBI to investigate advocates for a ceasefire in Gaza to see if they're working for Russia. Here is some of what we're actually working on (without Russia):

• We're asking Congress Members to repudiate former Speaker Pelosi's comments and to demand a ceasefire and an arms embargo.
• We're moving local governments to pass resolutions demanding a ceasefire.

We're trying some other creative approaches, including:

• A billboard circling the Capitol and White House.
• A Foreign Policy Primer for Congressional candidates.
• Adding cosponsors to a resolution to annul the Monroe Doctrine.
• Starting a multifaceted campaign to eliminate ICBMs.
