Friends,

In less than a month, more than 300,000 UPS workers are probably going to walk off the job – in the largest single-employer strike in U.S. history. While mainstream media have largely ignored this story, workers and labor activists are getting ready to support striking UPS workers.

UPS Teamsters say that -- despite record-breaking profits at UPS in recent years -- management has failed to negotiate a new contract in good faith with its workforce. Workers want an end to UPS's two-tier wage system. They say that they're forced to work long hours in facilities and vehicles without climate control. Meanwhile, on behalf of its largest shareholders and Wall Street investors, the company spent billions of dollars in the last few years on stock buybacks, driving up its share price.

Striking workers can win a fair contract, but only if the public shows its full support for workers demanding better conditions. It’s essential that power brokers – from the UPS boardroom to Wall Street to the halls of Congress – understand that public opinion favors the strikers.

That’s why we’re asking you to sign our petition pledging to support UPS workers if they go on strike. Add your voice to the growing chorus of supporters demanding that UPS management negotiate in good faith and deliver a new contract for its workers.

We can help the UPS Teamsters win this fight, but it will take all of our voices.
