Jeff Cohen, RootsAction Education Fund’s cofounder who also founded the progressive media watch group FAIR, will discuss “Corporate Control of U.S. Media” on Wed, February 15, 7pm at the Civic Media Center (433 S. Jeff Cohen was founding director of the Park Center for independent Media at Ithaca College, where he was an associate professor of journalism. He founded FAIR in 1986, and cofounded RootsAction in 2011. He was a cable TV news commentator -- and senior producer of MSNBC’s Phil Donahue primetime show until it was terminated weeks before the U.S. invasion of Iraq. He’s the author of “Cable News Confidential: My Misadventures in Corporate Media.” He has coproduced documentary movies: "All Governments Lie,” “The Brainwashing of My Dad,” and "The Corporate Coup D'Etat."  |
