In January, finally at long last a U.S. president (Biden) commuted the sentence of Native American activist Leonard Peltier, viewed by many as a political prisoner. RootsAction and many others had been demanding his freedom for years. Now he has finally been released. . . . released into an age of open lawlessness and claims of dictatorial and royal powers. What can be done? We're working on a few ideas:      RootsAction has helped to organize events in support of closing military bases. There are over 50 happening. Here's one RootsAction has taken the lead on in Niagara Falls, NY.  Defuse Nuclear War protested a test of a missile this week -- the sort of missile that would start a nuclear war.
