So many wars.

So little understanding.

Among the wars raging in the world now are two to which the U.S. government may soon send more free weapons: Ukraine and Israel, plus a third location where the war-for-profit industry seems intent on stirring up trouble: Taiwan.

In all three cases, there is no military solution, no shortage of blame on all sides, no exact "equivalence" between any two sides, and plenty of people willing to defend atrocities by one side or the other (which only benefits the propaganda of the opposing side).

All three cases distract from and defund human and environmental crises.

Let's try to talk as many people off the ledge of war madness as we can.

Tell Congress: Listen to the Experts Calling for Diplomacy in Ukraine

To Stop the Cycle of Violence, the U.S. Must Quit Supporting Israel's Occupation

Tell Congress to Support De-escalation and Diplomacy in Israel/Palestine

Some of the Congress Members who have made useful comments on the Gaza/Israel war are, predictably, being slandered quite viciously. One of the best ways to show them support in a money-run system is to donate to their campaigns.

“Just as we honor the humanity of the hundreds of innocent Israeli civilians and nine Americans who were killed this weekend, we must honor the humanity of the innocent Palestinian civilians who have been killed and whose lives are upended . . . Instead of continuing unconditional weapons sales and military aid to Israel, I urge the United States at long last to use its diplomatic might to push for peace." Rep. Ilhan Omar, Oct. 9

“As part of achieving a just and lasting peace, we must do our part to stop this violence and trauma by ending U.S. government support for Israeli military occupation and apartheid."Rep. Cori Bush, Oct. 7

“As long as our country provides billions in unconditional funding to support the apartheid government, this heartbreaking cycle of violence will continue."Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Oct. 8

"Hamas’ terrorist assault on Israel will have horrific short- and long-term consequences. . . .For years, people of good will throughout the world, including some brave Israelis, have struggled against the blockade of Gaza, the daily humiliations of occupation in the West Bank, and the horrendous living conditions faced by so many Palestinians. . . . Right now, the international community must focus on reducing humanitarian suffering and protecting innocent people on both sides of this conflict. The targeting of civilians is a war crime, no matter who does it. Israel’s blanket denial of food, water, and other necessities to Gaza is a serious violation of international law and will do nothing but harm innocent civilians." Sen. Bernie Sanders, Oct. 11

"I believe deeply that the majority of people of all kinds do not want to see Gaza leveled and innocents killed, & that they feel and hold the pain of Israeli families destroyed. We must build on our solidarity and common humanity to stop an atrocity in the making. End the cycle." Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Oct. 12
