Last week, The Nation magazine published an in-depth look at the influential group J Street, which describes itself as “pro-Israel, pro-peace.” The article — titled “Has J Street Gone Along With Genocide?” — illuminates the organization’s continuous support for huge shipments of U.S. weapons to Israel.

The RootsAction Education Fund’s national director, Norman Solomon, wrote the piece to expose the extreme disconnect between claiming to be pro-peace and backing massive arms transfers to the Israeli military engaged in mass killing of civilians in Gaza.

The day after Norman’s article appeared, CBS News reported that “the Trump administration has approved a major nearly $3 billion arms sale to Israel” — including more 2,000-pound bombs.

If you believe there should be an arms embargo on Israel, please take a minute now to send an email to J Street’s leaders telling them that arming genocide is unacceptable.

“Even as Israel triggered starvation, bombed hospitals and schools, cut off aid supplies, and sent the death toll in Gaza higher and higher,” The Nation article pointed out, “J Street refused to change its approach.” That approach included lobbying for the nonstop U.S.-to-Israel arms shipments to continue.

The article added: “When both Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch put out reports in December 2024 concluding that Israel was engaged in genocide, J Street made no response. It remains on the record proclaiming that ‘J Street rejects the allegation of genocide against the State of Israel.’”

Please let J Street know what you think.
