We cannot allow to go unchallenged this sort of statement by former House speaker Nancy Pelosi about protesters for a ceasefire, as if it might be true or even reasonable: “For them to call for a ceasefire is Mr. Putin’s message,” Pelosi said during a January 28 interview on CNN’s State of the Union. “Make no mistake, this is directly connected to what he would like to see. Same thing with Ukraine. It’s about Putin’s message. I think some of these protesters are spontaneous and organic and sincere. Some, I think, are connected to Russia.” Really? People opposing the ongoing genocide in Gaza are working with the Russian government? Of course, Pelosi has offered zero evidence at the time of her remarks or since.
