Senator Bernie Sanders has just done something that -- as far as we know -- no other Senator or Representative has done. He's publicly committed to voting No on military spending unless it is reduced.

We want to thank him. And we want to tell every other member of the House and Senate that we are thanking him. Click here to email your Representative and Senators.

We're hoping that by informing the rest of Congress we'll be able to encourage more Senators and Representatives to do what Sanders has done.

While some Congress Members sometimes vote No on military spending, we think it's important to commit to doing so before the vote. When Democrats withheld their votes last year until Senator Joe Manchin's oil deal was removed, they got what they wanted. This year, most Democrats in the House voted No because of measures related to abortion and LGBTQ rights, which they are seeking to have removed from the bill. We want them, on remaining votes, to announce beforehand that they will vote No unless military spending is reduced.

Some Congress Members say they want to reduce military spending, and vote for bills and amendments purporting to be aimed at that. We want them to be more effective by using the power of 'No' votes toward the same end.
