It will be harder than ever to organize for justice in the second Trump era. Extremists will control the Justice Department, “national security” institutions, and other arms of government. More than ever, effective activism will depend on information.

That’s why our Progressive Hub website has joined forces with Richard Eskow to produce his dynamic weekly TV and radio program, “The Zero Hour with RJ Eskow.”

You can boost the program’s reach with a tax-deductible donation.

Richard’s been a manual laborer, a rock musician and country/western singer, a computer systems designer, a corporate executive, and a policy consultant in more than 20 countries. After media deception led to the war in Iraq, however, he gave up a comfortable career to follow his conscience as a journalist.

Bernie Sanders sought Richard out as lead writer, speechwriter, and editor for his 2016 presidential campaign, saying he wanted Richard’s “ability to explain economic issues in ways everybody understands.”

“That experience taught me something important,” Richard says. “We can’t have a ‘political revolution’ without a media revolution.”

Richard predicted a reactionary Tea Party-style rebellion as well as what became Occupy Wall Street. He foresaw the disastrous financial and political effects of Democratic neoliberal policies. He was one of the earliest voices for once-radical ideas like free higher education and the regulation or nationalization of Big Tech.

But influence doesn’t come without a price — and not just financially.  Burglars vandalized his producers’ studio after Richard broadcast the secret recording of an explosive private speech by then-President Trump. All they stole was a hard drive, in an unsolved crime that caused thousands of dollars in damage.

Richard has been threatened with lawsuits. His social media was mysteriously hacked. He’s been shadow-banned from news programs. The White House complained to his bosses. One billionaire made it a personal crusade to get him fired. (He failed.)

Richard has also been publicly attacked by the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Alan Dershowitz. As Richard says, “I’ve been insulted by the best — and even more by the worst.”

But he keeps writing and broadcasting. Each week, Richard and Zero Hour senior correspondent Sonali Kolhatkar send their program out on nationwide cable TV, radio listeners in six cities, and online to the world. Guests have included Bernie Sanders, Jeremy Corbyn, Yo Yo Ma, and many of the world’s leading activists and thinkers. The Zero Hour Report carries written news and commentary, much of which is also on Progressive Hub.

Click here to support this new partnership. Half of every dollar goes directly to The Zero Hour, while the other half will support the RootsAction Education Fund. Contributions are tax-deductible, and whatever you can afford will be greatly appreciated.

We hope you’ll routinely visit Progressive Hub for latest news, commentary, quick action options and The Zero Hour.

Thank you!
