 The season of generosity offers various options. First: one can avoid making tax-deductible donations in order to be sure to maximize what one pays in taxes to the U.S. government, which just dumped another $886 billion into war preparations, while working on legislation to pour over another $100 billion more mostly into weapons for Israel, Ukraine, Taiwan, and the border of Mexico. Second: one can make big donations to presidential and Congressional election campaigns that seem to cost ever more and offer us ever less.
