The season of generosity offers various options.

First: one can avoid making tax-deductible donations in order to be sure to maximize what one pays in taxes to the U.S. government, which just dumped another $886 billion into war preparations, while working on legislation to pour over another $100 billion more mostly into weapons for Israel, Ukraine, Taiwan, and the border of Mexico.

Second: one can make big donations to presidential and Congressional election campaigns that seem to cost ever more and offer us ever less. And you'll still get Choice #1 as well, since election funding is not tax-deductible.

There's a third choice: You can pay less in taxes, not give your money to people who fail to represent you, and instead make a tax-deductible donation to the primary driving force behind most of the good public policies ever created, namely nonviolent activism.

RootsAction Education Fund works to educate the public about economic fairness, equal rights, civil liberties, environmental protection -- and the possibilities of converting from a war economy and a war-based foreign policy to an economy and foreign policy based on social justice, human rights, and nonviolent resolution of conflicts.

Make a one-time or a sustaining donation here.

Thank you!
